Promotions Page Overview
The Promotions module in TechSuite lets you create and manage discounts that apply automatically or manually based on customer orders. Whether you’re setting up opening deals, bundle offers like “Buy 1 Get 2 Free”, or limited-time discounts, this section gives you full control over when promotions apply and which items they cover.
All promotions are displayed in a table view, making it easy to see discount types, application methods, and statuses at a glance. You can define rules, assign conditions, and track which promotions are active on TechSuite POS and Kiosk.
a. Accessing Promotions
To get started, log in to the TechSuite portal and navigate to: Inventory > Promotions. This opens the Promotions page, showing all active and inactive promotions in a table.
b. Creating a New Promotion
Click Create New Promotion
to open the setup screen. You can define the promotion type, rules, eligible items, and availability.
There are three types of promotions, each with its own setup article:
 - Entire Bill Discount: Apply a fixed amount or percentage off the total bill.
- Item-Based Discount: Discount selected items only.
- Purchase Deal: Offer quantity-based deals (like “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” or “Buy 2, Get 1 with 50% Off”).

c. Promotions Table Overview
The Promotions page lists all promotions with key information in the following columns:
- Promotion Name: The title of the promotion.
- Type: Purchase Deal or Item-Based.
- Variable: Shows a tick (✓) if variable discounts are enabled.
- Auto Apply: Shows a tick (✓) if the promotion is applied automatically.
- Active: Indicates whether the promotion is currently on. If a promotion is inactive, its row in the table will appear faded at about 50% opacity, making it look lighter than active promotions. This helps you quickly spot which promotions are paused or turned off.
This table provides a quick overview of which promotions are running and their key settings.
d. Promotion Menu Options
Click the three-dot icon next to any promotion to open the action menu:
- d.1. Active Toggle: Turn the promotion on or off without deleting it.
- d.2. Edit: Change the promotion’s rules, items, or availability.
- d.3. Duplicate Promotion: Make a copy to speed up similar offer creation.
- d.4. Archive Promotion: Remove it from active use (can be restored later).
e. Promotion Side Panel
Selecting a promotion opens the details side panel on the right. This panel is split into:
- e.1. Overview: Shows the promotion name, creation date, type, and whether auto-apply is enabled.  
- e.2. Promotion Rules: Displays the promotion type and value (e.g., “£4.00 Discount on Selected Items”) plus active rules such as:
- Variable discount status
- Auto-apply toggle
- Maximum discount value
- Minimum spend requirement
- e.3. Other Tabs for Details: Displays the discount type and value (e.g., “£4.00 Discount on Selected Items”) plus active rules such as:
- Items: Lists the products or categories the promotion applies to.
- Availability: Shows the times or dates when the promotion is active.
