Setup Busy Mode

Busy Mode helps you manage peak hours by temporarily extending preparation times or limiting order flow. This ensures your staff can maintain consistent service quality—even when the café or restaurant gets unexpectedly crowded.

Before You Begin

To access Busy Mode, go to TechSuite portal management, then go to Manage Availability for your chosen branch. On the left side, you’ll see an option labeled “Busy Now”. Toggling this on opens a popup page for Setup Busy Mode

How Busy Mode Works

Once you activate Busy Mode, you can set how long it remains in effect (e.g., 10 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hour). During this window:

  • Prep Times automatically extend, letting customers know orders may take longer.
  • Staff Workload is balanced because the system factors in added wait time before accepting new orders
  • Manual Shutdown is possible—turn Busy Mode off at any time if you recover sooner than expected.

Setup Busy Mode modal with extra preparation time

Once the busy duration finishes, Busy Mode automatically ends and your general preparation times revert to normal. If you need additional advanced scheduling, consider setting Manage Availabilities for special dates or repeating patterns.

What’s Next?

After understanding how to use Busy Mode, review and explore Auto Accept Orders to control how quickly new orders are processed once things settle down.
