Order Alert Sound
Order Alert Sound settings let you choose which notification plays when a new order is received. This helps staff stay alert and respond quickly, especially during busy service periods or high-volume operations.
This setting controls the sound that plays across all active devices (such as tablets and desktop browsers) whenever a new order arrives. The sound only plays when the Orders page is open and active.
It’s especially useful in fast-paced environments where visual alerts may be missed.
To Get Started
To access Order Alert Sound settings, log in to the TechSuite portal and go to Settings > System Settings from the sidebar. Next, under the Sales & Orders Settings section, click Order Alert Sound. On this page, you’ll see a list of built-in alert sounds like Flute, Bell, and Goat. You can preview each sound, choose your preferred option, and set how often it plays when a new order arrives.
Configuring Order Alert Sound
Once on the Order Alert Sound page, follow these steps to select and test the right sound for your venue:
a. Select a Sound
Choose from built-in options like Bell, Flute, Goat, or Cheerful Alarm. One sound can be active at a time. The default is Flute.
b. Set Playback Behaviour
Decide how long the alert should repeat when a new order arrives:
You can choose from:
- Until the order is accepted: The sound will continue playing on loop until a staff member accepts the order. Ideal for busy environments where quick response is essential.
- Only once: The sound plays a single time when the order arrives. Best if your team is consistently monitoring the screen.
- No sound: Disables audio alerts entirely. Use this option if visual notifications are enough for your workflow.
Order Alert Sound Page Overview
The Order Alert Sound page lets you choose which sound plays when a new order is received, helping your team stay alert during busy service hours.
You can only choose from a set of built-in sounds. Custom sounds cannot be uploaded.
a. List of Built-In Sounds
The list includes system-provided alert tones such as Flute, Bell, and Chime.
b. Select Time for Playing Sound
Choose how long or how often the alert repeats for new orders.
c. Understanding Order Alert Sound Rows
Each row shows:
- Radio Button: Selects the active alert sound
- Play Icon: Allows you to preview the selected sound
- Sound Name: Displays the label (e.g. Bell, Flute) for easy recognition
You can preview as many sounds as you like, but only one can be active at a time.
Pro Tip
For loud environments like kitchens, try selecting a bolder or repeating sound like Bell or Goat to ensure nothing is missed.
