Availability on the POS App

The Availability section on the TechSuite POS app lets you quickly control which items, modifiers, and (optionally) sales channels are available for customers at your branch. It’s ideal for pausing sales during stock shortages, turning on Busy Mode, or setting accurate preparation times during rush periods.

To Get Started

Open the TechSuite POS app, sign in, and tap the Availability tile on the Home screen.

Main Features

a. Select Branch

If your business has multiple locations, use the branch dropdown to choose where you’re making changes. Availability updates apply only to the selected branch.

b. Busy Mode

Switch on Busy Now to temporarily extend preparation times across the branch. Choose the duration (e.g., 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour). A visible timer shows when Busy Mode will end automatically. See How to Use Busy Mode for details.

c. General Preparation Time

Set a default waiting time (e.g., “1 hour 30 minutes”) that applies to new orders. This helps manage expectations and load-balance the kitchen during peak periods. See Manage General Preparation Time for more.

d. Channels (Optional)

If enabled for your business, temporarily pause connected storefronts (e.g., delivery marketplaces) during peak times or outages, then resume when ready. This helps maintain realistic ETAs and service levels.

e. Items

Use the Items tab to pause or re-activate individual menu items. Changes sync in real time across POS and connected channels, so unavailable items can’t be selected at checkout. See Manage Item Availability for step-by-step guidance.

f. Modifiers

In the Modifiers tab, pause/reactivate options (like “Extra Cheese” or “Oat Milk”). This prevents unavailable choices from being added to orders. See Manage Modifier Availability for more.
